The Applied Technology Program at Western Oklahoma State College is committed to provide exemplary educational opportunities to meet the needs of both the individual and the community through a curriculum that trains competent, employable people in a wide variety of skill specialties. The cooperative agreements between Western and the Area Vocational-Technical Centers in Southwest Oklahoma are a vital part of Western=s ability to provide quality education to a variety of skill specialties. The Applied Technology program at Western, through a core of liberal education courses, also strives to prepare the student for life long learning in an ever-changing world.
The Associate in Applied Science Degree, which prepares you for job advancement opportunities in the specialized area of study, is designed for the student who plans to enter the job force immediately upon graduation in one of the specialty areas in which the degree is awarded. The Applied Technology option allows the student with a technical specialty to complete an AAS Degree.
