The child development assistant program is
designed for the student who plans to enter the job force
immediately. The certificate of mastery is recognized by the
Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Child Care Licensing
Division, as one step above the National Child Development
Associate Credential (CDA). After successful completion of the
required curriculum, the student will be eligible to complete a
resource file and have it evaluated by the Council for
Professional Recognition through the CDA National Credentialing
Program.
Students completing the certificate of mastery in child
development are prepared for employment opportunities in child
care centers, family child care homes, church-related and other
similar child care programs.
