JOURN 1113 Introduction to Mass Communications
A survey course of the field of mass communications and its
influence on modern society. This course is also a comparative study
of communication through newspapers, radio, television, magazines,
and motion pictures with emphasis on journalism techniques. Special
emphasis will be placed on emerging technologies, such as the
internet and the rapidly increasing varieties of news and
entertainment outlets. (LAS)
