CURRICULAR PROFICIENCIES POLICY

All students must show proficiency in English, math, science, and reading in one
of the following ways:

  1. Present an ACT score of 19 or above in the subject area;

  2. Show proficiency through institutional testing;

  3. Pass the developmental course in the subject area in which the student is
    deficient during the first 24 hours of college enrollment.

Note: Students who enrolled in any college prior to July 1, 1988 are
technically exempt from proficiency requirements in the four subject areas;
however, they are advised to address any areas of academic deficiencies in a
responsible way within the first 24 hours of college level course work.
