Applied Technology

The Applied Technology Degree has the following degree options:

  • Agricultural Power Technology Option
  • Construction Technology Option
  • Diversified Technology Option
  • Drafting Technology Option
  • Graphics/Communications Technology Option
  • Manufacturing Technology Option
  • Transportation Technology Option
  • Military Studies Training Option

All the Applied Technology Degrees are made possible through a Cooperative Alliance with the area technology centers in Oklahoma except the Military Studies degree option. The a large portion of the core technical classes for are taught at the technology centers and the general education and support courses are taught at Western. Cost to Students:
Cost is $8.00/credit hour for all Applied Technology alliance courses.
Students enrolling in General Education Courses must pay the $15 Enrollment along with the regular cost of Western's tuition.

The Diversified Technology degree option can be used at any of the four technology centers where the student studies more than one skill area and does not accumulate enough credit hours in any one skill area to meet the requirements of one of the other degree options.

The Military Studies Training degree option allow students who meet the specified criteria to receive college credit for the instruction and training received in the Military Studies Technical Training Programs and their related job experiences. This credit can be transfered in from a military transcript or students can receive extra-institutuinal credit for their experience with appropriate documenation.These college credits will be awarded to the student when all the conditions of the advanced standing agreement have been met. The Applied Technology Program at Western Oklahoma State College, through a core of liberal education courses, also strives to prepare the student for life-long learning in an ever-changing world for those students who have been trained by the United States military and are wanting to take advantage of their training towards the AAS degree at WOSC.
