Pool Closure Notice
Western informs campus and community patrons that the college pool will be closed indefinitely effective August 1, 2015
The closing is related to the FY16 state budget cuts that resulted in a 3.5% reduction in state funding to Western, in order to help cover the state’s $600 million budget shortfall. By rescinding the part-time wages for management of the swimming pool and part-time lifeguards, Western hopes to minimally affect patrons and re-open the pool as soon as the state budget situation improves.
Western thanks you for your understanding and support in this transitional period.
Western Oklahoma State College's Junior Olympic sized pool is available for use by faculty, staff, alumni association members and members of the community.
The pool program tries to meet the needs of the academic setting, the community needs, and also the needs of the youth. If there are classes or programs that you feel would and could be successful, please give us a call. We are always open to new ideas and programs.
The students, staff and faculty of Western Oklahoma State College are welcome to use the natatorium during the designated times. Everyone that uses the natatorium must show a current ID, every time they swim. Current ID holders must be present with their families to swim. A lifeguard will be present for your safety.
