Suzanne Rooker, Learning Resources Center Director
Suzanne has been working at WOSC since March of 2012. She has worked in various types of libraries, archives and special collections since 2009. She formerly served as a Digital Collections Librarian for the Thomas C. Oden Rare Book Collection, a private collection. For two years she served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma’s Western History Collections and she has also worked at the University of Oklahoma’s Youngblood Energy Library. She completed an internship at the University of Oklahoma’s History of Science Collections.
Suzanne received her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. During graduate school she specialized in special libraries with an emphasis on the digitization of resource materials.
Suzanne's LRC responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing the LRC, performing staff scheduling, hiring and training; overseeing aquisitions, circulation, collection development and reference. She also instructs faculty, staff, students and the public on how to effectively use information resources. She oversees the departmental budget, purchasing, inventory maintenance and serves on several WOSC committees.

Joanne Huff, Library Technical Assistant
Joanne began working full time as a Library Clerk in September 1996. She advanced to the position of Library Technical Assistant in July 2002. She worked part time in the LRC Computer lab for two years prior to that time.
Joanne has an Associates of Science in Business Administration and an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Software from WOSC. She completed her Associates of Applied Science degree in Library Technical Assistant from Rose State College in December 2001. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cameron. Joanne is a member of the Oklahoma Library Association and actively participates on the OLA support staff roundtable. She has also been involved with the OLA membership committee.
Joanne's LRC responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Serials Management, AV Equipment, Staff Scheduling, Circulation System Management (patron records & overdue items), Reserve Items, Statistics (monthly and yearly), and Inventory and Capitalization Reports. She is also instrumental in training new employees.
Jo enjoys working with the public and being able to help people. She also enjoys the vast array of information and knowledge that can be found in the LRC.

Vicki Melton, Library Technical Assistant
Vicki has been with WOSC since 1996. She has a broad range of educational experience including a total of 26 years in Public School and Higher Education, 22 of which have been in the library field.
Vicki was one of the original elementary library staff who was involved in every aspect of the physical and technical creating and completing of the elementary libraries in Altus and was the first librarian in charge of the Will Rogers Elementary School Library for 5 years, scheduling and teaching classes in library sciences, selecting materials for the collection, cataloging and processing materials. She raised thousands of dollars for library and classroom reference materials through the World Book program. Her first and foremost duty and pleasure was instilling a love of books and reading in her students.
Before coming to Oklahoma, Vicki spent 4 years in California as Library Employee/Clerk in the Moreno Valley Unified School District, working her way up through three positions, and spent her last 8 months temporarily upgraded to a certified Librarian position in a K-8 school of 1800, during which she supervised 2 employees beneath her, overseeing the elementary classes in 30 minute intervals and Junior High classes at one hour intervals simultaneously and prepared the library for full automation for the next school year, along with the day to day duties of a certified librarian. During this time she also hosted one of her former English students from Okinawa for a full school year and went on to host 11 other students from Japan for individual one month stays.
In Okinawa, Japan, she was a full-time trained K-6 Remedial Reading Tutor and Kindergarten Teacher's Aide for DODDS (Department of Defense Dependents Schools) for 3 years and was locally employed as an English Tutor for Okinawan teenagers four nights a week.
Before that time she began her career with the public school systems as an Elementary Office Clerk in Atwater, California for one year before her husband received his assignment to Okinawa.
At WOSC, Vicki's duties include downloading of records and cataloging on worldwide OCLC (Online Computer library Center) and the LRC's automation system, monthly displays, mending, bindery orders, supplies inventory and ordering, and training of new employees along with day to day duties of library, reception and clerical work. During her time at WOSC, she has also completed her LTA coursework through Rose State College.

San Trevino, Library Technical Assistant
Since the fall of 1997 he has been employed by the LRC (Library Resources Center). During this same period he enrolled in the Business Computer Information Systems Program for which he was awarded an Associate in Science Degree in December 2001.
Since then and with a change in direction he began work on a Bachelor of Fine Arts Program with emphasis in Computer Graphics and in May 2007 was awarded a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree from Cameron University.
Still employed in the LRC and desirous to better serve our library patrons, he decide on completing the LTA program from Rose State College which he successfully completed December 2010. Complimenting this achievement, he is also a member of OLA (Oklahoma Library Association).
He is responsible for updating the library web page and organizing the closing duties schedule. He assists with new employee training. Recently library equipment has become his other responsibility. He assist with mail service and prints overdue reports ensuring library items are accounted for. San finds rewarding the fact that our patrons find what they are looking for most of the time and if for some reason an item is not found he can point them in the right direction.
New responsibilities include downloading records and cataloging using OCLC tools, supplies inventory and some ordering, and in-charge of cleaning-staff members along with other day-to-day library duties.
