COURSE TITLE:                       Document Production and Word Processing

PREREQUISITE:                       OFST 1103, OFST 1153, or equivalent computer experience

COREQUISITES:                     None

 

CATALOG DESCRIPTION:

This course focuses on frequently occurring formatting tasks and develops those skills associated with document processing that are typical of the high-level office worker.  Integrated office jobs emphasize and provide practice in applying modern office skills such as creating a wide range of business documents, editing, and combining documents created in different applications.)

SUPPLIES:       Several  3 ½" double‑sided, high density diskettes

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

After completing this course, the student should be able to:

1)      Prepare Correspondence, Memos and Reports

2)      Prepare and work with appointments, contacts, newsletters, and presentations.

3)      Prepare worksheets and presentation.

4)      Prepare databases.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Regular attendance in class is crucial for success. Students are expected to attend each class. Each absence from class will adversely affect a student's grade for the course. The questioned material and a report of the ethics violation will be submitted to the department chair for further action as deemed necessary by the department chair.
