An
introduction to medical terminology and nomenclature; standard medical abbreviations and spelling;
appreciation of the logical method found in medical terminology; and proper use of terms in written
communication. 3 credit hours --48 lecture hours --0 lab hours

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

2.0 Class
Discussion: student participation in class discussion may be required by the
instructor.
Participation in class discussion may be used by an instructor to
evaluate
student performance.
3.0 Writing:
essay questions on exams or other written assignments may be required by
the
instructor.
4.0 Testing: a
minimum or three exams, including the final exam, may be required by
the instructor.
The tests may be subjective or objective and may consist of any combination of multiple-choice,
matching, fill-in-the-blank, or essay questions.
METHOD OF EVALUATION:
Instructors must provide class information sheets
(class syllabus) which specify course
requirements. Class
information sheets must clearly state the instructor’s method of
evaluation.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Although attendance may not be used
in the determination of grades, regular attendance
is
expected. Class information sheets must
clearly state the instructor’s attendance policy.
