COURSE NUMBER: BCIS 1513

COURSE TITLE: Intro to Spreadsheets

CREDIT HOURS: 3 credit hours.

PREREQUISITE: Fundamental knowledge of Business Math and/or Accounting; Keyboarding

COREQUISITES: None

CATALOG DESCRIPTION:

A study of spreadsheet design and application, focusing on the use of spreadsheets to prepare reports and analyze data, including charts. Introduction to spreadheet commands and capabilities. (LAS)

TEXTBOOK: Illustrated Series, Microsoft Excel 2002, Complete Edition, Elizabeth Eisner Reding and Lynn Wermers. Course Technology , 2002.

 

SUPPLIES: Two 3 ½" double-sided, high density diskettes

One binder and dividers

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

After completing this course, the student should be able to:

1.0 Launch the spreadsheet software, maneuver the cursor within a window, and manipulate a window.

2.0 Create and edit basic business worksheets and charts.

3.0 Using the software to performing calculations.
