Tony
Hardman, Learning Resources Director
Tony Hardman became the LRC Director in July, 2005. In addition
to managerial responsibilities, his duties include library
instruction, collection development, and library programming. He
also serves as an adjunct faculty teaching classes in speech and
drama. He is currently a member of the Council on Oklahoma
Information Literacy (COIL), Oklahoma Council of Academic Library
Directors (OCALD), and Oklahoma Library Association.
He has a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Communication from Southern Utah
University and an MLS in Library and Information Science from
Brigham Young University. He has worked in various library
administrative positions throughout Utah and Arizona before coming
to WOSC. He has served as the Library Director for Globe Public
Library in Globe, Arizona; for Stevens-Henager College of Business
in Provo, Utah; ITT Technical Institute in Murray, Utah; and the
Campus Librarian of the Lake Havasu City Campus of Mohave Community
College in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Other experience includes a two year teaching period for PROS
International Inc. in Osaka, Japan, where he served as the Faculty
Chief. He also runs and operates his own storytelling business,
which he started in 1992. During the 1995-96 school year he
conducted a twelve state storytelling tour, performing in over 300
schools in a ten month period. He has performed in several libraries
and storytelling festivals including the Timpanogas Storytelling
Festival, the Havasu Storytelling Festival, the Provo Freedom
Festival, the Scottsdale Cross Cultural Communication Series, the
Kingman Area Books are Magic Festival, the Smithsonian Yesterdays’
Tomorrows Project, and the Coffeyville Community College Humanities
Project. He has presented workshops on storytelling and cultural
diversity for the Educators for Diversity Conference at Utah State
University, the Arizona Library Association, the Mohave Library
Association, and Ford Motors Council on Cultural Diversity.

Joanne Huff, Library Technical Assistant
Joanne began working full time as a Library Clerk in September 1996. She advanced to the position of Library Technical Assistant in July 2002. She worked part time in the LRC Computer lab for two years prior to that time.
Joanne has an Associates of Science in Business Administration and an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Software from WOSC. She completed her Associates of Applied Science degree in Library Technical Assistant from Rose State College in December 2001. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cameron. Joanne is a member of the Oklahoma Library Association and actively participates on the OLA support staff roundtable. She has also been involved with the OLA membership committee.
Joanne’s LRC responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Serials Management, AV Equipment, Staff Scheduling, Circulation System Management (patron records & overdue items), Reserve Items, Statistics (monthly and yearly), and Inventory and Capitalization Reports. She is also instrumental in training new employees.
Jo enjoys working with the public and being able to help people. She also enjoys the vast array of information and knowledge that can be found in the
LRC.

Vicki Melton, Library Clerk
Vicki has been with WOSC since 1996. She has a broad range of educational experience including a total of 22 years in Public School and Higher Education, 18 of which have been in the library field. Vicki was in charge of the Will Rogers Elementary School Library here in Altus for 5 years, Library Employee/Clerk in Moreno Valley School District in California for 4 years, English Tutor and Exchange Student Host for 2 years, Remedial Reading Teacher/Teacher’s Aide in Okinawa, Japan, for 3 years, and she spent a year as an Elementary Office Clerk in Atwater, California.
Vicki’s duties include cataloging and weeding on OCLC and Dynix, monthly displays, mending, bindery orders, supplies inventory and ordering, and training of new employees.

Beverlie Newby, Library Technical Assistant
Beverlie has been with WOSC since 1990 when she was hired as a Library Clerk. Since that time she has completed certification as Library Technical Assistant and she has received her Associate’s degree in Library Science.
Beverlie’s responsibilities include technical processing of all materials purchased for the LRC. This includes ordering, assessioning, and processing of items. She also enjoys teaching orientation classes and one-on-one instructional training for patrons. She is willing to tackle any project and often takes on extra assignments. Beverlie is also in charge of our Interlibrary Loan program. If our library doesn’t have the item you need, she can find it for you!
When asked, Beverlie will tell you that she enjoys her work with students and faculty and finds it the most rewarding of all professions.

San Trevino, LRC Assistant
San Trevino came to work in the LRC during the fall of 1997 as a library assistant. He was awarded an Associate in Science degree in 2001. Since then and with a change in direction, San has been working towards his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with emphasis in computer graphics.
San maintains the two critical Dynix servers that house the library collection and IPAC (online card catalog), which allow computer access to the library resources as well as remote access to our collection and research databases. San also conducts database maintenance including record cleanup, ensuring the various fields contain valid data. San is responsible for updating the library web page and organizes the closing duties schedule. He also assists with new employee training.
