GRAUMANN TO ADDRESS WESTERN GRADUATES 




Speaking at Western’s 2008 commencement ceremony will be WOSC Board of Regents member Dean Graumann.

Regent Graumann graduated from Granite High School in 1970. He attended Connors State College on a baseball-basketball scholarship. He completed his education at the University of Tulsa, graduating in 1974 with a degree in marketing from the College of Business Administration. While at Tulsa University, he earned all-conference honors and was chosen as an Academic All-American in 1974. After graduation, Graumann was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and played professionally until 1978. After that, he and his father farmed together in Granite until December of 2007 at the time of his father’s death. During that time, he also operated an insurance agency and served as vice-president of a bank. After serving 20 years on the Board of Education at Granite, he was appointed to the Board of Regents for WOSC in May 2004.

Currently he serves as a consultant to the Oklahoma State School Board Association and conducts state-wide workshops on effective school operations. He has presented many motivational speeches to educators and agriculture-related groups.

Graumann has been married to his wife, Linda, for 33 years. They have 2 daughters – Marisa Calhoun who teaches at Southwest Technology Center, and Tressa who is completing her graduate degree in Speech Pathology at the University of Central Oklahoma. Graumann worked for Greer County on the Conservation Board for 6 years. He is well known for his inspirational speeches to youth groups and church groups.
