Applications for entry into Western’s radiologic
technology program will be accepted until the last Friday in May.
Application packets are available online at www.wosc.edu, under
Radiologic Technology.
The pre-requisite for application is the completion of Human Anatomy
with a “C” or above by the application deadline. The completion of
Medical Terminology with a “C” or above is highly recommended.
Applicants are selected using a point system with points being given
for overall college GPA (must be 2.5 or better), successful
completion of general education and support courses.
Upon completion of the radiologic technology program, the student
will receive the Associate of Applied Science degree and will be
eligible to challenge the ARRT national registry exam in order to
become recognized as a registered radiologic technologist.
In pursuing a career in the imaging sciences, many career
opportunities are available. The registered radiologic technologist
may cross-train into other imaging modalities, such as mammography,
ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI and cardiovascular
intervention. Persons wishing to expand their educational background
in radiology, may pursue a baccalaureate degree from the University
of Oklahoma or Midwestern State University.
