Renowned rodeo clinicians Mike and Sherrylynn
Johnson were in Altus recently to teach young western Oklahoma rodeo
competitors some new tricks of the trade.
Organized by Western’s rodeo coach Guy Smith, athletes from Western,
prospective students, and even a few competitors from other colleges
came together to learn from the experts and compete against
themselves to get better times in calf roping, breakaway roping,
barrel racing, and goat tying.
Participating were Rhett Ridling, Brandon Barber, Brooke McLemore,
Caleb Wilbur, Bailey Drury, Monty Reed, Garret Reed, Hayley
Schaffer, Lori Tierney, Bobbi Cox, Shancee Howell, Brian Johnson,
Matt Switzer, Logan Harkey, Adam Sawyer, Tyler Peck.
