The Western Oklahoma State College cheerleading team is celebrating a major milestone after earning 3rd place in the Small Coed Intermediate division at the 2025 NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. This marks only the second time Western has competed at NCA College Nationals and their first appearance in the Intermediate division, making the podium finish an even more impressive achievement.

Facing off against four other strong programs in their category, Western Cheer proved they're a rising force in collegiate cheerleading. "We're incredibly proud of the effort, dedication, and heart this team has shown all season," said Head Coach Nichole Turner. "Competing in the Intermediate division for the first time and placing third shows just how far we've come."

The team will say goodbye to a large and impactful group of sophomores this year, with nine graduating team members moving on after an unforgettable season. However, the future looks bright—Western has already signed three incoming high school seniors and is actively preparing for the 2025–2026 season.

Tryouts for next year's squad are scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd. The team is looking to build on their momentum and return to the Intermediate division stronger than ever. For more information about tryouts or to learn more about the program, visit https://www.instagram.com/westernokstate_cheer/.
