Each year, outstanding faculty and staff members from across the state are honored during the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) Annual Conference for their exceptional contributions to their campuses and communities.

Western Oklahoma State College is proud to recognize its 2025 OACC award recipients:

  • Bruce Wilson, Director of TRIO Programs, was named Outstanding Professional Staff. Bruce Wilson is a tremendous advocate for students, and his excellent leadership of Western’s TRIO Programs is evident across campus. His dedication to student success and his commitment to providing opportunity and support make him a valued leader within the Pioneer community.
  • Beth Barber, Assistant Director of Nursing/Sophomore Coordinator and Instructor, was named Outstanding Faculty. As a practicing APRN-CNP, Beth Barber brings a wealth of practical knowledge and real-world experience to the classroom. Her commitment ensures Western’s nursing students are well-prepared to enter the workforce with confidence and skill.
  • Beau Allen, Maintenance Technician/Grounds, was named Outstanding Support Staff. A true Pioneer, Beau Allen’s love for Western began during his time as a baseball player and continues today through his care and pride in maintaining the campus grounds. His dedication and work ethic reflect his deep connection to the college and its community.

These individuals exemplify dedication, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to student success. Their daily efforts strengthen the Pioneer community and uphold Western’s mission of excellence in higher education.

We appreciate each of these Pioneers and thank them for their continued service to our students and institution.
