Western Oklahoma State College Kicks Off 100th Anniversary Celebration

Western Oklahoma State College is proud to announce the official kickoff of its year-long Centennial Celebration, marking 100 years of shaping futures, serving the community, and opening doors for generations of students.

While smaller celebrations have been underway since the kickoff in December, the first major event of the year will be Homecoming 2026 on Wednesday, February 9. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to join in honoring Western’s rich history and vibrant present. Activities begin at 5 PM and will include a variety of festivities celebrating the spirit of the Pioneers and the milestones of the past century.

As part of the Centennial, Western is launching the Centennial Legacy fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $100,000 to support projects that will leave a lasting impact on campus. These initiatives honor Western’s history while investing in the future of students and the next generation of Pioneers. Thanks to generous supporters, the campaign has already raised $1,491 toward its goal.

The Centennial Legacy campaign encourages supporters to contribute online at www.wosc.edu/centenniallegacy or by calling 580-477-7706.

Western’s year-long celebration will include numerous opportunities to give back, reconnect with alumni, and honor the many achievements of the past century. Highlights of the celebration will feature special events, fundraising efforts, and the unveiling of Western’s new centennial logo during the recent Cheers to 100 Years Open House.

Since its founding in 1926 as Altus Junior College, Western Oklahoma State College has been a cornerstone of education in southwest Oklahoma. The Centennial Celebration is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the past, embrace the present, and build a strong foundation for the future.

Join us as we honor 100 years of Western and look forward to the next century of student success!
