Western Oklahoma State College honored thirteen exceptional students during the 2026 President’s Excellence Luncheon held on Wednesday, April 22, recognizing students who exemplify academic achievement, leadership, service, and dedication both inside and outside the classroom.

Family, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate the students and share stories highlighting the positive impact each nominee has made during their time at Western. The event reflected the close-knit spirit of the Pioneer Family and the meaningful connections formed throughout the college community. Students honored included:

Cody Bowland from Frederick, OK

Landon Burleigh from Lewistown, Montana

Kate Davis from Altus, OK

Eduardo Fernandez Boje from Mallorca, Spain

Ashley Fioritto from Altus, OK

Haley Flores from Blair, OK

Aspen Freeman from Balko, OK

Alyssa Keck from Duke, OK

Kenzli Locke from Lookeba, Oklahoma

Abbygayle Munoz from Mangum, OK

Julie Pendergraft from Hollis, OK

Stephen Semey from Accra, Ghana

Morgan White from Mangum, OK

Western named Abbygayle Munoz and Alyssa Keck as the 2026 President’s Excellence Award recipients.

Munoz, a Range and Wildlife Management major from Mangum, is the daughter of Abel and Victoria Munoz. During her time at Western, she has been actively involved in Cheer, Agronomy Club, Ag Ambassadors, and Financial Aid Work Study. Following graduation, she plans to transfer to Oklahoma State University to study Natural Resource Ecology and Management. A fun fact about Munoz is that she spent a summer working in Yellowstone National Park.

Keck, a Liberal Arts/Pre-Nursing major from Duke, is the daughter of Tim and Kristen Keck. She has been involved in Western Ambassadors, Phi Theta Kappa, FCA, and BCM throughout her time at Western. Keck has applied to Western’s Nursing Program and hopes to begin classes this fall to pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing and become a Registered Nurse. She shared that she was born partially deaf.

Western is proud to honor each nominated student and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of these outstanding individuals. We look forward to recognizing exceptional students for many years to come.
