Early Childhood/Child Development Program
Associate in Science
Degree In
Early Childhood [06600]
The conceptual framework for Western’s Early Childhood and Child Development program continues to use the six-sided STAR as a symbol to represent the program’s core values. Each point on the STAR symbolizes each of the standards, but the driving force is always each and every child. What students need to know and be able to do in the workforce is achieved through transformational course work and implementation with the children in the field.
The Associate in Science in Early Childhood and the Associate in Applied Science in Child Development degrees at Western Oklahoma State College are accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, www.naeyc.org. The accreditation term runs from May 2018 through March 2023.
