Faculty and staff members honored the 2024 President’s Excellence Award nominees at a luncheon on April 24th in the Pioneer Heritage Center. Nominees must be considered sophomore students, highly active on campus, and have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Nominees were required to submit a video, then the top ten were selected for an interview by a group composed of faculty, staff, and an outstanding freshman. Each of the 15 candidates this year embodied qualities of excellence, which was evident by all of the kind words said by those who nominated them at the luncheon.

The 23-24 Western cheer team made school history this spring as the first team in school history to compete at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona, Florida. The team received a bronze bid to the NCA College Nationals in July while attending the NCA Camp without a plan to attend. After practices began and the team grew, they set their sites on Daytona and became more determined than ever.

Western had an exciting day on campus, officially welcoming four new members to Western's very first esports team on April 17.
