Western Faculty Earn Teaching Online Certificates

Several faculty members at Western Oklahoma State College recently completed the seven-course Quality Matters Teaching Online Certificate (TOC) Series and officially earned their Teaching Online Certificates.

Faculty members earning the certification include Dr. David Goodman, Science Instructor; Curtis Goodson, Biology Instructor; Reid Armstrong, Biology Instructor; Patricia Purdue, Social Science Instructor and Division Director; Deena Morley, Chemistry Instructor and Division Director; Kristin Shelby, Academic Dean; Diane Fairchild, Nursing Clinical Faculty; and Bailey Lancaster, Psychology Instructor.  

The year-long professional development program focused on best practices in online teaching, course design, student engagement, accessibility, assessment, and creating meaningful learning experiences for online learners.

Quality Matters training helps instructors develop well-organized, student-centered online courses that support engagement, consistency, and student success. Western is proud of these faculty members for their continued commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
