ALTUS, OK – Western Oklahoma State College recognized the Western Oklahoma State College  Foundation with the Business Partnership Excellence Award through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.  The award program annually honors outstanding partnerships that lead to significant contributions in educating and developing Oklahoma’s workforce.

For fifty years, the Western Oklahoma State College Foundation has played a vital role as a strategic partner for Western Oklahoma State College. Established in 1974 as a nonprofit corporation, the Foundation promotes and supports WOSC's educational and cultural initiatives through various means, including endowments, loans, scholarships, and other forms of financial aid.

Under the instrumental leadership of Executive Secretary Larry Duffy since 1991, the Foundation’s total assets have reached more than $7 million. Duffy's commitment to education, backed by overwhelming support from alumni and friends, has provided over $4 million in institutional support and scholarships to Western Oklahoma State College and its deserving students.

“Not a day goes by on our campus that a student or a program is not impacted by the work of the WOSC Foundation.  The office staff consisting of Larry Duffy, Monica Taylor and Janna Davis has a passion for making a difference.  That passion is supported by a wonderful board of trustees and countless individuals and businesses that give generously to a variety of causes.  Not only is the Foundation a partner, but a member of the Pioneer family,” said Dr. Chad Wiginton, WOSC President.

The Business Partnership Excellence Award program highlights the significant impact of partnerships between educational institutions and external organizations in fostering workforce development and enhancing educational opportunities across the state. The Western Oklahoma State College Foundation’s longstanding commitment to supporting WOSC’s mission demonstrates its vital role in shaping the future of education in the region.
