Western Oklahoma State College Recognizes Outstanding Faculty and Staff at OACC Annual Conference

Each year, the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) celebrates excellence in education by recognizing outstanding faculty and staff who have made significant contributions to their campuses. Western Oklahoma State College is proud to acknowledge our 2024 honorees, who were recognized for their dedication and service to the college at the OACC Annual Conference held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus.

Jennifer Sommers, Accounts Payable & Inventory Coordinator, was honored as Western's Outstanding Professional Staff recipient. With 23 years of service at Western, Jennifer's expertise and commitment to managing essential financial processes have ensured the smooth operation of the college, contributing to a strong and supportive campus environment.

Casey Seals, English and Speech Instructor, received the award for Outstanding Faculty. Casey's dedication to student success and his innovative teaching approaches have made a lasting impact on the students at Western for the last 15 years, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking.

Steve Winters, Maintenance Lead, was recognized as Western's Outstanding Support Staff recipient. Steve's tireless efforts in maintaining the campus facilities ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff, playing a crucial role in the daily operations of the college.

"It is always a privilege to recognize outstanding employees. Casey, Jennifer, and Steve are wonderful examples of the amazing faculty and staff we have at Western, and we are grateful for all they do to support our mission," said Dr. Chad Wiginton, WOSC President.

These individuals exemplify the values of Western Oklahoma State College, and we are grateful for their hard work and passion. Congratulations to our awardees, and thank you for your continued excellence!
