Upward Bound

Western's Upward Bound program is a dynamic college-based program for high school student who attend Altus, Hollis, Olustee - Eldorado, Snyder, and Tipton.  Upward Bound students come from families with limited financial resources and/or have parents who have not received a bachelor's degree.   Upward Bound is a TRIO Program, federally funded by the United States Department of Education.

Western's Upward Bound program provides various opportunities to experience academic programs, cultural events, and other activities not usually available to first generation students or students from families with limited financial resources.  Information, activities and instruction are designed to acquaint youth with a range of career options and career job shadow with area professionals. The services and opportunities are provided at no cost to students or families.
