Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
I have always been passionate about agriculture and animals, so for me it was the obvious choice.

Agriculture has always been a big part of my life, and I plan to stay involved in agriculture.

Advice to HS students wanting to attend college:
Don’t be afraid to get involved and meet new people. Western offers many opportunities, so take advantage of the clubs, organizations, scholarships, and activities available. Get to know your professors and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. College can seem intimidating at first, but Western is a great place to start because you can build relationships and figure out what direction you want to take with your future.
Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
I chose Agricultural Science with an Ag Education, Communication, and Leadership option, along with Applied Animal Science, because it combines the areas of agriculture I enjoy most. I have always enjoyed working with animals and being involved in agriculture, but I also discovered that I really enjoy teaching, communicating with others, and being a leader. This major allows me to continue learning about animal science while also preparing me to teach and share my knowledge of agriculture with others. My long-term goal is to become an agriculture instructor at the college level.

You don’t have to start at some big university; you can start small and get the same education.
Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
I grew up around agriculture and then watching the Ag teachers help kids find their passion. I want to be that ag teacher that kids can come to, who helps get them out there.

Advice to HS students wanting to attend college:
My biggest advice would be to take advantage of every opportunity you can. Apply for scholarships, get involved, and don’t be scared to step outside of your comfort zone.
Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
I chose the agriculture field because it has been a big part of my life throughout high school. I raised and showed goats, and I was involved in FFA. I knew I wanted to study something I already enjoyed while also learning skills that I could use for a future career in agriculture.

Don’t let the new environment scare you! Get out there and be yourself.
Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
I’ve been involved my whole life and it’s always felt like the place to be. I’m interested in a few fields involving agriculture as well so it’s a good starting point for me.

Why did you choose the agriculture field to study?
Animal science offers a variety of knowledge that can be used almost anywhere in the Agriculture industry. I’ve always been involved in the industry and have a passion to keep advocating and helping our community!
